而rockwell falls这个小镇的名字也恰好有13个字母。
在电影中的那本命理学历史中，关于圣经的命理学中，4代表团结与坚定。3代表神圣的结合，6代表平衡与和平。
小镇的人口只有维持在这个数字上方能太平。任何企图破坏这种平衡的人都要被神圣的意志处决——抽签牺牲掉或者逃出去被天谴。

任何无意中闯入的人，都被小镇的居民看做命中注定要加入他们的人。对任何企图离开的人，都被视为是患有精神热病的患者，过于反抗者，将会被施以手术，以净化其灵魂。

小镇地处偏远，人们过着一种近乎于与世隔绝的生活，传统而守旧，就差没穿上18世纪的衣服了。他们有警官，有镇长，但是他们更愿意遵循自己的法律。所有人都团结而偏执地固守他们的信条，电影在他们处死一名心甘情愿赴死的镇民时达到疯狂的巅峰。

而小镇似乎确实被某种邪恶的诅咒所困。影片一开始，一男子驾车狂奔，刚出小镇，便翻车而亡。男主角刚入小镇，看见一女子骑马在镇边界落马。而最终当所有人都以为男主角和小女孩可以逃出生天时，那个噩梦却真的实现了。

在排除诅咒与命理学外，那种”家庭“的观念也是众多温而不露的变态心理滋生的地方。电影里面某大妈和蔼地对男主角说“这里没有什么比家庭更重要”。而小镇就像一个大家庭，为了保护家庭的完整，一点牺牲完全是无关紧要的。比如在《复制娇妻》中，为了达到那种和谐的家庭，净化掉女性的意识只是一个小小的牺牲罢了。又比如在游戏《辐射3》中，有一个任务便是2家人在核爆后为了延续家庭，不惜吃掉所有的路人。电影后期，kady在医生家的地下室里发现了一家人，他们显然是被“治愈”的“健康人”，他们住在狭小的牢笼中却毫不在意，笼中按照居家布置，女主人还热情邀请kady做客，大家脸上洋溢着幸福的微笑。当“家庭”成为囚笼时，更多的人选择的是甘为囚徒。

电影中的警官是一个很有特点的人。他知道这里的一切并不正常，相对于其他镇民而言，他算得上为数不多的正常人。他有心上人，但是他的懦弱让他不敢有任何举动。即便他知道男主角和他心爱的女子关系不简单，他想杀了男主角却做不到。最后他放过了男主角，却杀了他的搭档。然后娶了已经被净化的心上人。最终和这个变态的社会妥协了。其实我们大多数人都是这位警官，在这样一个变态且浮躁的社会。

电影还有另一个版本的结局，就是男主角带小女孩成功出逃，并且避免了车祸。

一如既往的美国恐怖片，看美国片，是把恐怖片当惊悚片看，把惊悚片当剧情片看，把剧情片当色情片看，把色情片当恐怖片看……
号称什么内心恐怖悬疑力作，在我看来和之前妮克的《小岛惊魂》几乎没什么区别，剧情不错但是说到恐怖震慑就有点言过其实了，主要意思是地球上有这么一个地方，那里的人口必须永远保持在436，进去的人就会出不来，人多了就通过仪式把多余的吊死，谁要是想出去就会被医生之类的洗脑，变得再也不想出去，非要出去的就将会死于非命，其实也就是死在一个噩梦一样的情境里。但是仔细推敲，硬伤太多……
1 人多了可以杀，人少了怎么办，去外面拐么？没交代……总不能老是靠生的那么凑巧吧
2 既然是保持人口436就好，那为什么非杀自己人，直接团结起来把外人干死不就结了，还搞什么仪式，浪费啊
3 那些不过夜的人绝对不会卷入就因为他们不过夜……应该展开至少黑夜和噩梦的关系

不过其实片子还是有值得深挖的地方
比如数字统治宇宙，比如永恒的话题
有没有想过，从宏观的角度其实我们也是在这样一个守恒的世界存活，也许不是简单的数字436，但想想黑夜白天，生老病死，热恋失恋，吃喝拉撒，这何尝不是一个巨大的守恒，没有人能够超越……我们活在这里乐此不疲，就像我们没活过一样。

如果真要拍恐怖片，导演可以比这个做的好得多，比如对小镇上神秘宗教的渲染，莫名其妙的死亡，436这个数字的神秘意义...等等等等。再蹩脚的导演都可以使用简单的方法来让观众毛骨悚然，而不必弄出这么一个平淡的故事来作为恐怖片。

这部影片蕴涵了一个很深刻的道理。影片中的小镇上的居民反复强调的Solidarity, Steadfast，Equlibrium，Peace。实际上，从哲学来说，均衡应该是宇宙中普遍存在的一条法则。一个方面多出来，在另一个方面必然会减少。这个小镇的居民一直在人为的维护着这个均衡，直到被Mr. Kady的逃跑扰乱。但是很不幸的是，Mr.Kady最终在逃亡的路上死于车祸。这让人突然有了一种凉飕飕的感觉。是否宇宙的自然法则就在支配着人们的行为？主观上认为自由的意志，是否最终无法破坏宇宙的法则而获得完全的自由？或者，所谓自由意志最终不过是个幻觉，是人们站在物质意识二元论这一本来不存在的二分法理论上得到的错误？于是，最终，人们的意志不过是宇宙中一些毫无生机的自然律，而无论人们以为自己多么自由的主宰自己的行动时，他们最终都无法逃脱这种自然律的支配，或者，他们原本就是没有任何“自由”的。

这部影片的编局可能更想传达这样的一种疑惑。恐怖只是表达这种哲学上的疑惑的一种方式而已。最近看到的蕴涵着哲学理论的影片很多，再造成心理恐惧的同时，实际上这种恐惧正是来源于对我们生存的世界的疑惑，对基本哲学问题的无助和困顿。

    436~一个稳定的数字，多一个不行，少一个也不好！
    就像上帝的13位门徒一样，如果12个都说他是坏人，那么他就是，因为总要有一个人牺牲，不过，13个人中至少有一个人没有被上帝洗脑！！！
    是电影的音乐让我一点点看下去，感觉要有什么事情发生，直到事情真的发生，你又回想不会就这样吧，那接下来回有什么事呢？
    观众就像男主角一样去调查，这里发生了什么事。
    情节不讲，要说的是，当大家都感觉你不对的时候，你会不会去和大家一起这样下去。这样才会‘稳定’。但是‘另类’的结果很宿命，你只有去找那个没有‘洗脑’的它~~~下面的世界！
   
    
    
    

一开始就猜到了结局，除了失望还是失望。在男主角似乎证明了小镇行为之非的时候，导演俗的不能再俗的安排了一场车祸，于是小镇的一切又找回了“正义”的基点。除了“可耻”，我想不到别的词来描述这部影片。

这是一部算是有趣的电影，描写了芝加哥某个小镇的人口几十年都是只有436个人，某个人口调查员觉得很奇怪，于是就去那边观赏这个村庄，渐渐发现了一些秘密。

我看了觉得算是一部比较有趣的电影，我看过类似的电影比如《灵异村庄》，风格类似，不过那部电影意义会更深刻一些，这部反而简单明了一些，并且宗教色彩太浓了，忽略了人性这种话题。

一个奇怪的村庄，为了保持平衡，永远需要保持436个人，多一个则要有人主动自我灭亡，杀一个则自动会有人补充进来，以此循环，“我们不需要外面理解我们”，表达了他们独特的想法。破坏规则的人总是会在逃跑途中出车祸灭亡或者被人道毁灭。

如果无法接受这种生活，那么必须接受治疗，因为得了“精神热病”，多么堂皇冠冕的理由啊。方式非常类似与宗教或者党派的洗脑行为，最后让你自己觉得生活的很幸福或者抛弃你任何非法的念头。

有趣的片子，不算特别恐怖，稍微有点玄幻。
